Product Overview

The ALC-404D from Community is one of their trio of Amplified Loudspeaker Controllers (ALC), with this model being their 4 channels x 400W version. The ALC series provides additional flexibility for real-world Community loudspeaker system applications with bridged channel pairs supporting driving loads down to 4 ohms at double the power of a single channel.

ALCs provide all of the signal routing, zone switching, DSP processing, protective limiting, remote monitoring, and amplification functions needed between a mixer and the loudspeakers in virtually any Community Professional Loudspeakers application. Standard Ethernet communication protocols allow for fast system design, system control, and remote system monitoring. Analog and Dante® inputs are included for quick and easy integration into any new or existing system. Community-authored loudspeaker presets include equalization, high pass filters, and multi-stage limiters tailored to each model, ensuring consistent sound quality and full loudspeaker protection in every application.

In-depth control and monitoring is accomplished via ArmoníaPlus® System Manager Software, allowing you to tailor the sound and managing the system at a remote, decentralized location. The ALC-404D can also be trusted in mission critical applications, such as fire alarm systems, thanks to the cleverly engineered power supply that allows reliable operation even when connected to a UPS in addition to the per-channel, user-assignable fault-indicating GPIO connectors on the rear panel.

Packing 4 channels into 1 RU, reduces rack costs and minimizes space requirements for the ALC-404D. The industry-leading integrated DSP reduces the need for external outboard equipment, drastically reducing installation effort and expense. Extremely high operational efficiency greatly reduces power consumption, resulting in the lowest thermal dissipation ratings in the industry, and minimizes the need for external cooling devices.

The Amplified Loudspeaker Controller (ALC) provides four channels of power amplification and digital signal processing with analog and Dante inputs. Total available power can be safely distributed asymmetrically across the outputs in any combination of low impedance and 70/100V loads in single ended and/or bridged configurations. Power delivered from each output is individually monitored and automatically limited to the stated, safe operating ranges.
