This AT-XP5/H combo kit from Audio-Technica includes the AT-XP5 DJ cartridge pre-mounted on an AT-HS6BK headshell.

AT-XP5 Audiophile DJ Cartridge

Specially designed to meet the needs of DJs, it features a highly-rigid polyphenylene sulfide (PPS)/glass fiber body and a 2 to 4 gram tracking force. It also offers a powerful 5.5 mV output level, and its 0.3 x 0.7 mil elliptical bonded stylus tracks the record groove with a high degree of accuracy for outstanding audio reproduction. Plus, the cartridge is specifically designed to provide maximum stylus tip visibility.

AT-HS6BK Headshell

Features an ultra-lightweight (9 g) aluminum die-cast body to keep vibration to a minimum and a finger lift to enable precise stylus placement, with a universal ½"-mount for use with 4-pin turntable cartridges. It's also equipped with gold-plated lead wires for lossless signal transmission, and comes supplied with mounting screws.

About AT-VM9E Series compatibility with the AT-XP Series DJ Cartridges

The XP-Series electromagnetic engine-body is fully-compatible with all replacement styli of VM95 Series and will deliver more output voltage than VM95 Series cartridges, thus providing improved compatibility with phono inputs of Professional DJ Mixers.

VM95 Series electromagnetic engine-body is compatible with the 3 replacement styli of the DJ cartridge AT-XP Series as well. Nevertheless, the XP-Series electromagnetic engine-body outputs higher voltage than VM95 Series cartridges in order to provide better compatibility with phono inputs of Professional DJ Mixers.

Notes:

• Typical tracking force when using XP Series styli is 3 grams as opposed to 2 grams for VM95 Series styli.
• The XP-Series styli suspension design and compliance have been optimized for intensive DJ’ing, including possible manual cueing and back-cueing.
• The VM95 Series suspension design and compliances of VM95 Series have been designed for optimal audiophile reproduction.
